Master Your Health - The Final Chapter

Thanks for sticking with me in this series of three articles! We have talked about the wannabees, the over comers, and how this all relates to how you can finally master your health. Now that you know what a health wannabee is, and that you don't want to be one of those, I will show you how you can become a health over comer.

How great would you feel if you were able to take total control of all the bad food that undermines your health? How great would it be for food to no longer control you? Do you believe that you can learn to make food choices that will improve your health, and not hurt it?

Imagine having your favorite type of junk food sitting on the kitchen counter: a bag of spicy chips, a package of double stuff chocolate cookies, or maybe a seven layer chocolate cake loaded with frosting. Imagine that any one of those would normally never allow you to pass them by, but this time you notice they are there and you simply walk on by. That's what can happen if you learn to be an over comer!

Okay, if you are going to master your health how can you learn to be an over comer? It starts with educating yourself on how poor food choices negatively affect your health and weight goals. Once you know how things work in your body then you can't make poor choices in good conscience because you know the end result. If you realize that the sugary snacks are going to send you into glucose overload, and your pancreas is going to have to work overtime to get blood sugar levels under control, and that excess sugar may likely be stored as fat, why would you knowingly do that to yourself? That would be counter productive to your health goals!

Once you have nutritional knowledge your food battle can easily lead to you to frustration. Once that happens your frustration can create pain, and when the pain creates a dislike for junk food then real changes can be made. Once you really understand the relationship between food and your body, only then will you be able to create better food choice habits that will allow you to completely ignore the foods that previously lead to poor health.

So, here's what you can do: follow these three simple steps!

Master Your Health Step #1
Get focused on what you want and stick to it by avoiding all outside interference. What do you want to look and feel like? Why are you at this point in your life? Write down all the reasons you want to make a change for better health. How will you have to change to become this new person? If you are not clear on what you want it will be too easy to revert back to old habits. Decide that you hate being unhealthy more than you love junk food!

Master Your Health Step #2
Educate yourself with nutritional knowledge, not just opinion. Become a student of health. Learn to understand why things happen in the body like they do. Knowledge is power and once you have that the unhealthy foods that once were exciting to you will no longer be of interest. They may even disgust you. Choose a few good sources that you will use to teach yourself. Follow their advice. Teach yourself to be your own nutritionist. Make it a hobby that you work on a little bit every day. Learn something new about your body every day and how you can feed it better.

Master Your Health Step #3
Do something every day to help create a new healthy habit, one at a time. Don't try and change everything all at once! A couple of examples could be to drink twelve ounces of water first thing in the morning, cut out processed sugar and replace it with smaller amounts of natural sugar, stop drinking soda, stop eating fast food, and add more fruits and vegetables to your diet. Pick one and do it for thirty days. The next month add another healthy habit. In one year you will have created twelve new healthy habits that will get you closer to becoming a health over comer.

I know you can do it! You can master your health if you will start to learn how food and exercise affect your body. Really become a student of nutrition and I guaranty you that you will never have to worry about making proper food choices again. You will never again be a health wannabee, but instead an over comer. I wish you vibrant health and much success in your health goals!
